- ➤ The Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office updated on the 2023 inmate death investigation after Silver Jenkins was found unresponsive in her cell on March 12 — the Wisconsin Department of Justice concluded its review, declined to bring charges, and authorities determined her death resulted from dehydration due to her voluntary restriction of food and liquids. - ➤ At Messerschmidt Dairy in Eau Claire County, Felicia Erickson and her husband Dave hosted their fourth 'Hundreds on the Farm' event on June 9 to mark a changing era as small dairy farms face rising costs and fewer young locals choosing farming. UW-Extension Educator Ryan Sterry said milk production in the Chippewa Valley increased—even as the number of grade A dairy farms dropped from about 500 to 257 in the past decade. WIProud
