ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Firefighters worked at the Eau Claire Brush Disposal site on Jeffers Road to put out a large fire that began Friday at 8:32 a.m. and flared Saturday morning as city and Forestry crews used water and heavy equipment and plan to haul the debris off when safe. WQOW
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Friday, Eau Claire Fire Department responded to a smoldering brush pile at the disposal site on Jeffers Rd using water and heavy equipment & crews returned Saturday morning when the pile began smoldering again to monitor conditions until the Forestry Department could haul it off. WEAU
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ On Saturday, UW-River Falls football aimed to earn a spot in the division three championship against Johns Hopkins while Team Hebert curling won the World Junior-B title, Eau Claire North hosted prep boys basketball, and UW-Stout men's basketball played on the road versus St. Mary’s. WEAU
- ➤ Team Hebert from Eau Claire Curling Club dominated the World Junior-B Curling Championships in LOHJA, Finland with a 5-2 win over Switzerland and an 8-0 record all week long. The team will represent the United States at the 2026 World Junior Championships in Italy. WEAU
