- ➤ Bob's House for Dogs is one of several Eau Claire recipients of the Green Bay Packers Foundation's $1.5 million grant cycle that supports civic programs such as animal welfare, health, and environmental causes statewide. WQOW
- ➤ Twin brothers with PKAN have inspired state fundraising for gene therapy research through the Full Court for a Cure campaign organized by Erin Binder and Mary McDaniels. Supporters and high schools will join the rally Monday, Dec. 22 at Barron High School with events like a basketball game, community meal & raffle. WEAU
- ➤ Local advocates are planning a candlelight vigil at Wilson Park at 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22 to honor lives lost among the homeless in Eau Claire. The event will feature remarks and a reading of names for those who passed away over the past year. WQOW
- ➤ Volunteers at Hope Gospel Mission are preparing for their 19th annual Christmas dinner, planning to serve over 650 guests at Hope Renewal Center on Mercantile Drive Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Meals will also be available for curbside pickup. WEAU

- ➤ The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation is backing Cascades’ $6 million expansion project at the Eau Claire facility, which will add 36 jobs over the next two years and boost local paper industry innovation. - ➤ State officials urge residents to shop local this holiday season through the Shop Small Wisconsin initiative, which runs until Dec. 31. Deputy Secretary Rikkers visited Eau Claire Outdoors on North Barstow Street on Wednesday and said dollars spent locally help keep money in the community & support neighborhood businesses. WEAU
