- ➤ Downtown Eau Claire businesses are preparing for Christmas as small shops continue to face challenges from online sales after Thanksgiving. Erin Klaus from Downtown Eau Claire Inc said the community benefits when buyers shop local and the group is holding a Reels and Deals promotion—offering seven $50 gift cards at random. WQOW

- ➤ The City of Eau Claire is offering free sand at its Central Maintenance Facility (911 Forest Street) 24 hours to help residents prepare for snow—residents must bring their own shovel and container with a limit of one 5-gallon pail per person. WEAU
- ➤ The Eau Claire Fire Department launched its annual fire awareness campaign 'Keep the Wreath Green' after Thanksgiving to warn residents about fire risks from cooking and seasonal hazards. If a structure fire happens before New Year's Eve, one green bulb on a wreath will be replaced with red + the department advises checking furnaces and cleaning chimneys. WQOW
