- ➤ The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction released state report cards showing that Eau Claire Area School District received a 71.1 rating (exceeds expectations) while Chippewa Falls Area Unified School District scored 70.6 (meets expectations). Mandy Van Vleet said the district remained committed to using student feedback for ongoing improvements in the learning environment. WEAU

- ➤ On Friday, Senior Master Sgt. Brian Goebel, a native of Stanley, celebrated 37 years in the Air Force when his crew from the 934th Airlift Wing flew over the Chippewa Valley and family and friends greeted him on the tarmac—he credited his long career to his love of aviation and said he will retire at the end of this milestone year.
