  • Visit Eau Claire announced The Curd Crawl 2.0: Return of the Curd, a tour of 11 local restaurants where visitors and locals can sample popular curd dishes—registration is free with more details to follow.  WEAU

CULTURE NEWS

  • Bon Iver, led by Eau Claire native Justin Vernon, has been nominated for two Grammy awards — Best Alternative Music Album for SABLE, fABLE and Best Alternative Music Performance for Everything Is Peaceful Love, adding to their total of 11 nominations with two past wins. The 68th Annual Grammy Awards will be held on Sunday, February 1 on CBS.  News8000.com

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Department of Public Instruction released its 2024-2025 report cards and Chippewa Falls Area Unified School District scored nearly four points higher than last year—showing strong gains at the K-5 level. Superintendent Jeff Holmes and Teaching and Learning Director Katie Coppenbarger said the district will continue to measure progress and prepare students for future tests.  WQOW
  • North High School paid tribute to local VFW members during its Veteran’s Day ceremony — featuring a student presentation, musical performances from the choir, band and orchestra, and a three-volley salute — while schools across the Chippewa Valley also honored those who served our country.  WEAU

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Eau Claire Transit officials announced that fares will be removed for kindergarten to 12th-grade students on routes serving local middle and high schools starting January 1 to boost ridership and ease travel for families. The transit division expects to lose about $20,000 a year in revenue but has adjusted its budget — ensuring the change is fully funded.  WQOW
