Northwoods Elementary held its 29th annual Christmas in the Northwoods fundraiser with 80 vendors working to help the school reach a $10,000 goal for youth programs—organizers credit the effort as a key gift to students and the community.

At First Congressional Church of Christ, the eighth Global Market was held Saturday—featuring artisan goods from South America, the Middle East and other regions—to support sustainable livelihoods and community development.

Organizers said the event, held on the second Saturday of November, has steadily drawn strong local interest over the years.
