  • The Children's Museum of Eau Claire is waiving its usual $4 fee for SNAP or WIC families through November—offering a safe place for play and learning amid the federal shutdown. Families show their benefits at the entrance and can also buy a $30 annual membership for unlimited visits.  WQOW

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Altoona fire crews put out a structure fire early Sunday in an area without hydrants and no one was hurt as investigators looked into the cause — officials are still reviewing the incident.  WQOW

BUSINESS NEWS

  • JimBob's Pizza Shop will close its Eau Claire location on Fairfax St near Memorial High School on November 21 after 12 years of serving local customers + owners Steve and Vicki Wagner announced the decision on social media Sunday. The pizzeria will still sell its signature pizza at its Chippewa Falls location.  WQOW
  • Jamf started in Eau Claire and operates its office on Riverfront Terrace near Phoenix Park while its main headquarters is in Minneapolis+ Francisco Partners will acquire the company for $2.2 billion with stockholders receiving $13.05 per share, and the deal is expected to close in the first quarter.  WQOW

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Five Polish mayors visited the Chippewa Valley Monday as part of a week-long Congressional Cultural Exchange Program to share economic development practices with local leaders — the group toured community institutes to learn from Wisconsin business models.  WEAU

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Eau Claire City-County Health Department asked for help locating a large, short-haired white dog with brown fur that bit a man near Imperial Circle and Eldorado Boulevard at 4:30 p.m. on October 31—officials said both a woman and a man were seen with the dog and need its rabies status confirmed, urging anyone with information to call the Communications Center.  WEAU
