- ➤ Chippewa Valley Technical College hosted its ninth annual 'Give Vets a Smile' event on Saturday in Eau Claire. Veterans received free dental cleanings, massage and health education from students — a thank-you for their service. WEAU

- ➤ A couple hundred early childhood professionals attended the 9th Annual Early Learning Conference in Eau Claire organized by Western Dairyland to share resources and support better funding for child care, as many earn about 15 dollars an hour (Becca Elbert noted). The event aimed to boost morale and strengthen efforts for improved early education. WEAU

- ➤ Yesterday, top cross country runners competed at the WIAA Championships in Wisconsin Rapids—Lauren McCalla broke the state record in Division 1 while Carter Kucko won the Division 2 title. In girls volleyball, Regis advanced to state with a Division 4 win, Blair-Taylor reached state for the first time, and both Barron and Onalaska earned state tournament bids. WEAU
- ➤ Arcadia boys soccer team defeated Three Lakes/Phelps 5-0 and advanced to the state tournament for the third time in team history. In WIAC football, UW-La Crosse beat UW-Stout 31-14 and UW-Stevens Point held off UW-Eau Claire 39-36 — both contests took place on November 1. WEAU
