- ➤ UW-Eau Claire hosted Blu’s Halloween Bash on Oct. 28 for children of all abilities at its campus—organizers arranged games, crafts, a sensory book-reading, and a food drive—sending donations to The Community Table. WEAU
- ➤ The USDA announced that Food Share benefits will not come in November, and local food banks are already seeing a surge in visitors. Feed My People served 450–500 households in the past two days, and neighbors are making meal baskets to help meet growing food needs—community donations are needed to keep up with demand. WEAU

- ➤ The University of Wisconsin Board of Regents honored Xcel Energy and UW-Eau Claire with the Business Partnership Award—Interim Chancellor Mike Carney said the recognition marks their strong collaboration for future innovation—and praised their joint effort in building opportunities for the community. - ➤ Flynn Elementary, an international peace site for 16 years, had its fourth graders create paper peace doves with positive messages and place them on neighbors' doors on Tuesday—spreading a message of calm through the community. - ➤ Hundreds of local middle and high school students attended a Clean Energy Career Fair at Chippewa Valley Technical College where they worked at stations that let them build turbines, fly drones and learn EV car mechanics—sponsored by Xcel Energy and Slipstream. - ➤ ECPD reminded residents to thank police, firefighters and EMS on National First Responders Day by waving, smiling and leaving positive messages online—each message added as a leaf to the department's Tree of Life painting outside the communications office.
