- ➤ Trinity Equestrian Center will host the Strength in Service Summit on October 3-4 to offer healing and resilience-building for veterans, first responders and the community. The event will feature speakers including keynote Jessica Lynch, a concert by Chris Kroeze and a new tribute fund honoring former Sheriff Ron Cramer—expanding the center’s services to first responders. CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Eau Claire once had two racetracks—a horse track built in the 1870s on the west side of State Street near the current roundabout and a driving park in the Third Ward that later became a grandstand, athletic field, and residential lots. Today, only the curve of Roosevelt Ave marks the old east end of the track—showing a piece of the city’s past. WQOW

- ➤ UW-Eau Claire began its 100th homecoming week with campus events that fueled student pride, and the celebration will continue with a parade on Water Street at 10—followed by a football game at Carson Park at 1 this Saturday. WQOW
- ➤ UW-Eau Claire has begun its third year of partnership with the emBARK dog training facility to study how dogs learn—focusing on how a dog’s personality affects its reaction to human cues.
