- ➤ Regis Catholic schools campus went on short secure when an unauthorized person was removed from its parking lot around 11:30 a.m. on Thursday—police responded quickly and lifted the alert after 15 minutes, ensuring everyone remained safe. WEAU
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ On Thursday the Hmong Refugee Simulation Committee released a documentary on five Hmong refugees who turned 50 in the Chippewa Valley following an April youth simulation—this film shows the participants describing their hardships fleeing Vietnam and stresses the need to keep their heritage alive. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Eau Claire Area Chamber of Commerce has been named the official Wisconsin State Partner for the National Civics Bee and will coordinate the 2026 event in Eau Claire in late spring/early summer. Essay submissions are open through Feb. 3, 2026—the state contest winner will advance to the National Finals in Washington, D.C. WEAU
