EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ More than a couple dozen students at Eau Claire North High School walked to Mercury Avenue at lunch to demand stricter gun laws after several school shootings raised safety concerns. Organizer August Hendrickson said the protest will continue if lawmakers do not act. WEAU
- ➤ Declining elementary enrollment has led the Eau Claire School Board to consider two options on Monday for closing or repurposing schools. The district will review plans with a 20-member committee until mid-October—inviting public input to decide a recommendation by November or December. WQOW
