- ➤ L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library is holding a giveaway of two pairs of EnChroma color blind glasses for Color Blind Awareness Month—entrants need to take the EnChroma test to enter by the end of the month. Two winners will be chosen at random. WEAU
- ➤ The UW meets EC event took place downtown on Friday night and offered UW-Eau Claire students free shuttles, giveaways, and an interactive map (guiding them to local organizations and businesses along Phoenix Park). CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Police issued a fine to a former Green Bay Packers quarterback after he engaged in an altercation with a bar patron and employees in Eau Claire. The Chippewa Herald
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ University of Wisconsin Eau Claire placed the final steel beam on the new Science and Health Sciences building after community members signed their names. The building will open in 2027 and will boost STEM studies — a milestone for UWEC. WEAU
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Eau Claire city council approved paid on-street parking downtown that will start June 1, 2026. The new fee of $1 per hour in the downtown area — with $0.50 on its outskirts — will fund staffing, repairs, and ramp replacements and has raised concerns among some local business owners. WQOW
