- ➤ Eau Claire Police stopped two ongoing Bitcoin scams targeting elderly victims—one where a victim was heading to deposit $10,000 into a Bitcoin machine and another following a $12,000 withdrawal—recovering over $19k in total. News8000.com
- ➤ A federal grand jury indicted 41-year-old Jason Bloedow of Eau Claire for methamphetamine trafficking after he allegedly sold meth on March 19th and April 15th and possessed at least 500 grams on April 25th from his home—if convicted he faces a minimum of 10 years and a maximum of life in prison. - ➤ Anthony Jackson, charged with first-degree intentional homicide for fatally stabbing a patron at Do Dodge Inn on December 14, underwent a competency exam at an inpatient treatment facility and was ruled competent to stand trial during a Wednesday morning hearing—his next court date is set for September 9.
