- ➤ Over 250 community members hiked around River Prairie Park in Altoona to help families in need—supporting Beacon House Shelter run by Family Promise of the Chippewa Valley, and the record turnout boosts efforts as the group is on track to raise $35,000. WEAU
- ➤ On Saturday, Jaquish Farms will host its annual sunflower maze with wagon rides, food vendors and a picking patch to raise funds for Joshua's Camp that helps children fighting cancer—owner Don Jaquish revived the event after nearly canceling it due to health concerns and a young girl's kind words, and the maze will run for two weekends. - ➤ A UWEC professor, Jyl Kelley, and students are installing glass mosaics at McIntyre Library with the hope of bringing trees into the building — an art installation designed to add natural elements to campus. Leader-Telegram
- ➤ At UW-Eau Claire’s Blugold Breakfast on Tuesday morning, Interim Chancellor Carney shared UWEC's plan to expand health care education opportunities during the 2025-2026 school year—highlighting an increase in nursing program capacity to 128 students per year to address the nursing shortage. Seven faculty members also received Excellence Awards at the event. WEAU

- ➤ Eau Claire police remind parents to help children stay safe when walking or biking to school by using sidewalks, traveling with a friend, and avoiding conversations with strangers—officers are increasing patrols around school zones and advise bikers to wear helmets and follow traffic signs. - ➤ The Eau Claire Plan Commission approved plans for a new ClearSky Health rehab hospital on Bullis Farm Road and a Country Inn and Suites hotel on Scully Drive, both on the southeast side. The hospital will treat over 650 patients annually and break ground this fall, and the hotel will feature 78 guest rooms near Camping World—approval now moves to city council. WQOW
- ➤ Chippewa Valley Regional Airport will host a full-scale emergency training exercise tomorrow as crews from several agencies participate. Residents near the airport may see emergency vehicles—used only for training purposes—and radio communications testing safety plans. WEAU
