- ➤ Senator Tammy Baldwin visited NorthLakes Community Clinics in Eau Claire Friday morning to speak with community members about health care and warn that a new budget could hurt rural hospitals and Medicaid users—Congressman Derrick Van Orden held his own event Friday afternoon addressing related concerns. - ➤ Congressman Derrick Van Orden met with local business owners in Eau Claire and explained that the One Big Beautiful Bill provides tax deductions for equipment, encourages new investments, and offers research breaks while promising an extra $1 billion for Badger Care—he argued that claims of cutting Medicaid are false. - ➤ Officials at the Dunn County Aging and Disability Resource Center say they have only one driver left and are asking for volunteer drivers to transport residents over 60 or with disabilities to medical appointments—many local veterans also rely on the service.
