- ➤ UW-Eau Claire will offer a new major in assistive systems and robotics engineering this fall and has received a robot dog to help students learn key skills—students have already started testing its grabber arm and camera controls as discussions about naming it continue. WQOW

- ➤ County officials in Eau Claire confirmed Jon Johnson as the new county administrator—he comes from the highway department where he served as highway commissioner—and he will officially assume the role on September 8. News8000.com
- ➤ Today, the City of Eau Claire and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation hold a public meeting at the L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library to gather feedback on the Dewey Street Bridge project on Dewey Street from Gibson Street to Galloway Street. The project, estimated at $14 million, includes removing the old bridge + building a new one with roadway, sidewalk and trail updates, with design finishing by Nov. 1 and construction starting in 2027.
