- ➤ The Eau Claire library has launched a new Community Languages Collection to serve readers whose first language is not English, featuring Spanish, French, Hmong, and Ojibwe books for adults and children. Library Director Nancy Kerr said the selection reflects local language use and indigenous heritage—ARPA funds initially bought the titles and the library will use its own budget to maintain the collection—providing long-term support. - ➤ On Sunday, firefighters responded to a water rescue when a bystander pulled 45-year-old Douglas LaBarge from the Chippewa River near the Water Street Bridge—rescuers transported him by boat to Mayo Clinic Health System where he died. WQOW

- ➤ An Eau Claire man accused of repeatedly stabbing his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend in Lake Hallie on Friday appeared in Chippewa County Court Monday—he faces charges of attempted homicide. Leader-Telegram
