On June 20, FOX2548 celebrated Nexstar Media’s 29th Founder’s Day of Caring by volunteering at the Eau Claire Humane Society, Eagle Crest Communities, and Habitat for Humanity—helping care for animals, playing games with seniors, and moving furniture for local projects.

The Wisconsin Makers Market held its first 'Celebrate the 715' market on Saturday at the Eau Claire Expo Center to honor local business owners and entrepreneurs.

The event — created with the Eau Claire Chamber of Commerce — featured 64 new vendors and will lead to monthly summer evening markets at the Brewing Projekt.

The first Summer Jam music festival began on Friday at the Country Jam grounds in the Eau Claire Event District with Lynyrd Skynyrd headlining and continued on Saturday with Collective Soul and The Black Crowes performing.

Festival director Jake Lynch said mist tents, water stations, air conditioning and medical teams were in place to help beat the heat + a large crowd attended the event.

On June 21, community leaders and state officials backed rural hospitals to help improve care for patients in small communities — they said the changes could lead to better funding and support.

The move is expected to shape future health decisions in the area.

On Saturday, the Mondovi community held a Walk for Strength to support six-year-old Crosby Williams—who has a rare case of cerebral creatine deficiency syndromes that leads to seizures and developmental delays—and to raise awareness and funds with a $20,000 goal for research and treatment.
