- ➤ The ChemCeed Foundation is hosting its 12th Annual Teeing Off for a Cure golf outing today at Lake Hallie Golf Course with registration opening at noon (shotgun start at 1 p.m.). Over 110 golfers have signed up and the foundation needs 10 more two-person teams as all proceeds will help cancer survivors and those fighting cancer. WEAU
- ➤ The Pablo Foundation has committed $422,000 to help build a new Day Resource Center and Housing and Family Services Office at 610 Gibson Street in downtown Eau Claire. The facility — which will offer daytime shelter, showers, laundry and counseling services in partnership with Hope Gospel Mission — will open in January 2026 to support the city’s unhoused population. - ➤ The Eau Claire Area Chamber of Commerce partnered with UWEC and CVTC to release its 2025 Student Survey results from over 575 students today — the data shows that affordable housing and improved transportation are key concerns for those wanting to stay in the region. - ➤ A Mondovi man, 44-year-old Christopher Ardoin, was charged with sexual assault after he is accused of inappropriate touching at a tattoo parlor on Farwell Street in Eau Claire; the county court set a $1,000 cash bond with orders for no contact and that a third person be present during tattooing (clients must receive a criminal complaint before being tattooed) and he is set to return to court on July 15. - ➤ After threatening someone with a handgun on May 23rd, 47-year-old Leo Lacy of Eau Claire fled from police, crashed his car, and ran on foot before he was caught in a garage, and he was charged with 23 counts including endangering safety and resisting arrest—his bond was set at $100,000. WIProud

- ➤ Amanda Carrier was named Chief of Police at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire police department; she held leadership roles for four years and is set to build on the unit’s tradition of strong service—ensuring a safe campus for all. - ➤ A $10 million road construction project will replace the pavement on Highway 53 — from Golf Road in Eau Claire to 40th Avenue in Lake Hallie — starting Monday. The Chippewa Herald

- ➤ Alzheimer’s advocacy groups in Eau Claire welcomed the FDA’s approval of a blood test that can help doctors diagnose the disease earlier so patients can begin treatment soon. The test will be available at specialty clinics, and the next Walk to End Alzheimer’s is set for September 27. WEAU
