- ➤ Cyclists in Eau Claire are preparing for Bike Week, which will run from June 1 to 8 as more than 15 groups plan events with the Wisconsin Bike Federation. - ➤ Eau Claire County officials warned residents, contractors, and business owners that fraudulent invoices naming Matt Michels are circulating that falsely claim to be from the Planning & Development Department — residents should verify any invoice by contacting the department using official information before making payments. - ➤ Eau Claire police charged 47-year-old Leo Lacy with 23 crimes after a manhunt that saw him threaten someone with a gun, crash his car in the East Side Hill neighborhood, and trigger a school lockdown - officers later found him in a garage storage area and he appeared in court on Wednesday. WQOW
- ➤ Eau Claire tattoo artist Christopher Ardoin, 44, was charged Wednesday with one count of third-degree sexual assault and four counts of fourth-degree sexual assault after alleged incidents of inappropriate touching during tattoo sessions between March 2024 and February 2025—he posted a $1,000 cash bond and must now have a third-party witness present during his tattoo procedures.
