Good morning, Eau Claire.

Dog owners from across the Chippewa Valley gathered at Carson Park on Saturday morning for the 39th annual Fido and Friends Fun Run—raising funds for the Eau Claire Humane Association.

The funds support animal care including medical needs and staff time, with nearly $30,000 raised last year serving as a benchmark for this event.

Hundreds of community members gathered on Saturday at Phoenix Park to celebrate 50 years of Hmong in the U.S. Organizers from Power Up Eau Claire said the Hmoob Day event featured traditional food, music, and games to share the culture and history with local residents.

During the spring Drug Take Back Day, Wisconsin collected 56,818 pounds of unwanted prescription medications—making it the nation’s top state for the program.

Since 2010, the state has collected nearly 1.37 million pounds of medication—ensuring safe disposal for its residents.

The downtown YMCA hosted the Stronger Together Recovery and Mental Health Resource Fair on May 17th to connect locals with mental health support.

Organizer Julie Wilson said she hopes the fair grows each year (Mental Health Awareness Month) to offer more assistance.
