- ➤ Marshfield Clinic announced Friday that it donated $90,000 to United Way of Wisconsin to support local health programs in areas including Chippewa Valley, Rice Lake, and Taylor County. The funding will help improve well-being in underserved communities. WQOW
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Burlington held a ribbon cutting Friday morning on Commonwealth Avenue next to Boot Barn, opening its off-price store that will offer name brand products, create 65 jobs and donate $5,000 to Flynn Elementary via its AdoptAClassroom program. WQOW
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Micon Cinemas is busy this week with Obsession showing exclusively at its Eau Claire spot and In the Grey screening in Chippewa Falls and Oakwood Mall — Top Gun films, Shrek, family movies, and kids’ series also play, and tickets go on sale for next week's Mandalorian and Grogu. WEAU
- ➤ The Eau Claire Sculpture Tour returned with 35 new installations across downtown, on city trails, and in parks including River Prairie Park in Altoona and in Menomonie — sculptures range from big fish to playful animals. WQOW
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Local school board leaders urged state lawmakers to resume negotiations after a $1.8 billion funding deal died in the Senate earlier this week (fearing class sizes and programs may suffer) and they called for renewed efforts to lower property taxes. WEAU
- ➤ On Friday, 5th graders from all 13 district elementary schools competed in track and field events at Memorial High School, including the 200-meter race, 50-meter dash (and long jump); they described the day as a memorable bonding experience before entering 6th grade. WEAU

- ➤ The Day Resource Center in Eau Claire is set to receive a $600K state grant to support its One Better Way Campaign for those facing homelessness. Western Dairyland has raised nearly $5.3 million toward its $6.4 million goal as part of a larger $50 million statewide investment. WQOW

- ➤ Friday, Boyceville hosted Mondovi in a Dunn-St Croix baseball game where the Bulldogs won 9-7. Baldwin-Woodville stayed undefeated in prep softball while Cadott held a track invite. Eau Claire North and UW-La Crosse also played soccer and baseball games. WEAU
