  • Several Eau Claire residents reported aggressive turkeys chasing them on Old Wells Road between Domer Park and Highway 312 as the birds began their mating behavior in mid March. City officials and the DNR advised residents to stand their ground if approached—since removal cost about $1,300—and recommended using harassment tactics to deter the birds.  WEAU

HEALTH NEWS

  • Health officials are leading an effort during Survive Stroke Week, which began May 4th and runs until May 10th, to show residents the warning signs of strokes and stress that calling 911 immediately can save lives. They advise that recognizing symptoms—like sudden facial droop or weakness—and managing factors such as high blood pressure, diabetes, and cholesterol is vital.  WEAU
