- ➤ Residents can explore Astronomy Day at Phillips Hall, featuring exhibits, telescopes, and moon displays by the Chippewa Valley Astronomical Society & join a nighttime telescope viewing session at Phoenix Park on Thursday, May 21 before the event transitions next year to a new, larger science building. - ➤ At Saturday's Eau Claire Marathon, WEAU’s Bob Gallaher ran to raise funds for cancer research, earning $1,608 for UW Carbone Cancer Center when 804 runners passed him (after a 4-minute head start) and each donated $2. He finished the 5k in 46 minutes. WEAU
