- ➤ Ohly, a division of ABF Ingredients, has shared plans to build a $270M manufacturing facility in the Chippewa Valley that will produce condiment powder ingredients for food and health products. The plant will supply distributors and boost business in the Eau Claire community. WQOW
- ➤ Gray Media reached an agreement to return WEAU and other local stations to the DISH lineup effective immediately. DISH subscribers in Eau Claire can now access local news, weather and sports along with popular shows (such as The Voice and Jeopardy). WEAU
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Chippewa Singing Resistance held a May Day singalong yesterday at Phoenix Park — inviting community members to honor labor history and unity. Guest speakers discussed workers’ rights and rising living costs while the Justice Choir led songs to uplift the crowd. WEAU
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Area high schoolers experienced hands-on learning when Miron Construction — a Chippewa Valley firm — hosted its annual careers event in Lake Hallie on Friday. Students learned masonry, iron working, and project management during National Apprenticeship Week. WQOW
- ➤ Manz Elementary School raised $1,165 over a week and a half by selling compost bags and celebrating with awards on Friday morning. The funds, presented by Earthbound Environmental Solutions, will support upcoming gardening projects including planting a vegetable garden later this month. WQOW
