- ➤ A house fire in Eau Claire broke out Monday morning with firefighters arriving at 6 a.m.—first responders rescued one person while another died, the blaze was out by 7:45 a.m. and the home was declared a total loss as the investigation continues. WQOW

- ➤ On April 25, a 32-year-old Eau Claire man named Andrey Y M Sichuga was charged after he brought a loaded handgun to Putnam Heights Elementary—he rang the doorbell and refused to leave, prompting a lockdown and a traffic stop during which officers recovered the weapon—and now he faces charges for firearm possession on school grounds, resisting an officer, and disorderly conduct with a $10,000 cash bond and a preliminary hearing on May 6.
