- ➤ Local non-profit Sofas for Service will host its 7th Annual Veterans in Need Fundraiser on Saturday, April 26 at Saving Grace Lutheran Church from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The event will feature a spaghetti dinner and silent auction, with tickets priced (adults $15, veterans $10, ages 6-12 $5, and children five and under free) to help cover expenses like gas and new furniture. - ➤ A fire broke out at an apartment on Richard Drive in Eau Claire Wednesday morning, displacing one family while firefighters quickly put out the flames with no injuries and the American Red Cross was contacted to assist the displaced family. WEAU

- ➤ Morrie’s Subaru (of Eau Claire) donated just over $39,000 to Feed My People Food Bank on April 23 for the nationwide Subaru Share the Love event and the funds will help the food bank buy groceries at cost. WIProud

Phillips Memorial Public Library is accepting applications for a four-week makerspace residency from June 2 to June 28 that offers a $750 stipend and up to $500 for supplies (applicants must lead three two-hour workshops and hold four hours of studio time weekly).
