- ➤ A new study finds that statewide school funding gaps have grown as referenda success dropped to 61% this spring. Rural districts in the Chippewa Valley are increasingly relying on referenda to fund rising costs, while one district that failed an operational referendum plans cuts and may retry in the fall. WQOW
- ➤ Hundreds of area students participated in Chippewa Valley Technical College's financial simulation 'Test Drive... Next Stop Reality' + managed by the Royal Credit Union Foundation; they picked career paths, earned mock paychecks and budgeted for expenses like transportation, healthcare, childcare and student loans. - ➤ Chippewa County has contracted with First Choice (525 Park Ridge Court) to accept appliances and electronics for recycling. Residents may drop off free non-freon TVs, computers, and other items Monday-Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday-Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. WEAU

- ➤ Chippewa Valley Cooperative Hospital opens a new Wound Care Center in Chippewa Falls today. The center, led by Dr. Emily Mason, is staffed by wound care experts who provide treatment for diabetic ulcers, burns, and other conditions. WEAU
- ➤ Chippewa Valley Cooperative Hospital opened a new Wound Care Center in Chippewa Falls on April 21, operating from the former St. Joseph's Hospital as it builds a new facility in Lake Hallie. The center, led by medical director Emily Mason, features two hyperbaric oxygen chambers - tripling treatment capacity to ease wait times and improve care. WQOW
