- ➤ Highway construction on US-53 near Clairemont Avenue has led to nine crashes since work began, and police warn that tailgating causes crashes + delays; lane closures will shift to the left next Tuesday, Apr. 22, with the project set to finish by the end of May. WQOW

- ➤ Gray Media reported that after granting multiple extensions during severe weather and major events (NFL playoffs, Super Bowl, and Winter Olympics), DISH Network pulled WEAU from its service due to new, unacceptable demands. The station remains available on other providers, and viewers may petition DISH for a return. WEAU

- ➤ Two new films hit local theaters this week: Lee Cronin’s The Mummy plays at Micon Eau Claire, Chippewa Falls, and the Oakwood Mall, and Normal starring Bob Odenkirk screens in Chippewa Falls and at the Oakwood Mall.
