EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Student mental health referrals in Eau Claire Area School District jumped 59 percent by October, with officials noting that more middle and high school students sought help amid social media and trauma concerns. A $55,000 grant funded an in-house therapist and telehealth pilot to ensure timely support as Mental Health Awareness Month nears in May. WEAU
- ➤ Kayla Velasquez from Osseo-Fairchild School District was named one of 100 winners of the 2026 Herb Kohl Educational Foundation Teacher Fellowship. - ➤ On Monday night, a DOT camera captured multiple cars parked in traffic under an I-94 overpass between Foster and Osseo during a severe thunderstorm.
