- ➤ The Eau Claire Community Humane Association hosted its first 24-hour slumber 'Pawty' fundraiser on April 5-6 and raised over $36,000 for shelter pets—donations closed at midnight—leaving the organization $3,500 short of its goal. WEAU
- ➤ On April 14th, 24 teams and 50 players played pickleball at UW-Eau Claire to raise money for the Pinky Swear Pack— the university group linked to the Pinky Swear Foundation that helps children with cancer. WIProud
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Authorities charged driver Andrew Premo—35 from New Lisbon—and passenger Kyra Anderson—26 from Eau Claire—with multiple offenses after a high-speed chase on April 10 in Eau Claire County; Premo faces charges including recklessly endangering safety, fleeing from officers, and drug offenses while Anderson was charged with felony bail jumping and obstructing an officer after admitting she smoked methamphetamine with him.
