  • The UW-Eau Claire Pickleball Club will host a tournament with the Pinky Swear Pack to raise funds for a nonprofit that supports kids with cancer. The event includes 24 teams plus 50 participants and aims to help families affected by the disease.  WEAU
  • At a forum in Eau Claire, Puentes/Bridges explained that 80% of Wisconsin’s milk is harvested by immigrant workers—emphasizing their vital role on local farms and in the community.  Leader-Telegram

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Middle school students from DeLong Middle School (host of the first Civics Bee in Eau Claire) competed on Saturday morning and qualified for state by answering questions on community issues.  Leader-Telegram

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Delegates from the Wisconsin Conservation Congress are asking residents to attend the spring hearing today at Memorial High School—voters will elect two delegate seats and hear DNR staff answer questions on issues including a proposal to reduce the Eau Claire Lake fishing limit. Officials hope that turnout will improve after low attendance in recent years.  WEAU

SPORTS NEWS

  • The first girls' AAU basketball program in Wisconsin celebrated its 40th season on Sunday at The Sonnentag Center as three generations of one family led Team Wisconsin. The program started in Colfax in 1986 by Keith Noll and is now run by his grandson Jackson, helping over 1,200 players move on to college and 12 join the WNBA.  WQOW
