CRIME NEWS

  • The Taylor County Sheriff’s Office said two bodies were found in a Pershing home on April 9th after a call about two severely injured adults, and officials said there is no immediate public danger—anyone with information should contact law enforcement.  WIProud
  • Police arrested 33-year-old Joshua Shult after a short car chase on Clairemont Avenue on April 11 following reports of erratic driving at a Kwik Trip in Altoona—officers used a tire deflation device and a taser to secure him on charges of OWI 2nd offense, fleeing officers, and resisting arrest.  WIProud
  • Police arrested 35 year old Andrew Premo after he led law enforcement on a fast police chase through residential neighborhoods in Eau Claire and Chippewa Counties Thursday night—a car search found meth, prescription medicines, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.  News8000.com

CULTURE NEWS

  • Yesterday, the Jazz Crawl featured over 20 venues and more than 45 musicians performing downtown Eau Claire, offering a mix of funk, reggae, and bluegrass. The festival concludes tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the Pablo Center—marking its final night of live music, workshops, and student participation.  WEAU

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Students at Flynn Elementary School in Eau Claire are hosting a compost fundraiser (lasting two weeks) that turns food waste after lunch into one cubic foot compost bags sold for $25 each. Half of the funds will support the school garden with composting supplies and plants, and the project is run with help from Earthbound Environmental Solutions.  WQOW
