- ➤ The Eau Claire Community Humane Association will host its 24-hour Shelter Slumber Pawty fundraiser at the shelter starting Saturday, April 18 at 12 p.m. to raise $50,000 for animal care — nearly 100 shelters nationwide are joining while almost $15,000 has already been donated. WQOW
- ➤ EC Indoor Sandbox LLC held a ribbon cutting last Thursday and will celebrate its grand opening tomorrow at 4314 London Road. Children aged 1 to 10 can dig, build and explore a sensory-friendly play area — featuring a dino and construction event from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. WEAU
- ➤ Eau Claire’s One Better Way Day Resource Center marked its 5th month of service last Thursday with a ribbon cutting and open house that celebrated its expanded facilities and support for people facing homelessness. The center now serves an average of 85 individuals each day. WEAU
- ➤ Two Men and a Truck launched its annual Movers for Moms donation drive at its Prill Ridge Ct location in Eau Claire to collect essential items like soap, clothing and diapers until May 8 and support mothers in need at Bolton Refuge House (a local nonprofit shelter). WEAU

- ➤ Four finalists were chosen to head UW-Eau Claire as the new chancellor, replacing former leader Jim Schmidt who served among the UW system’s longest. The university will announce next steps soon. The Chippewa Herald
