52-year-old Jay Conklin was sentenced to 7 years and 6 months in prison with 5 years extended supervision—consecutive to his current sentence—for attempting to hire fellow inmates to kill a prosecutor after being convicted of solicitation of first-degree intentional homicide.

The Eau Claire City-County Health Department expects a loss of around $85,000 in federal funding — it was notified on March 27th that the federal decision to cancel the grants was made on March 24th.
