- ➤ VFW Post 305 will host a charity fundraiser and resource fair on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. to help 17-year-old Kellen who has an ultra-rare genetic disorder that led to him losing 20 feet of his intestinal tract in 2023 and now requires round-the-clock care. The event will also offer information to caregivers and families on managing disabilities including resources related to Agent Orange. WEAU
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ A major road work project will begin Monday along Madison Street to replace traffic signals, fix sidewalks, and close parts of Farwell Street that affect Superior Auto Body in downtown Eau Claire. Owner Dave Savage said he was not informed of the extra closure and that limited access may cost his business up to 100000 dollars as work is expected to finish by early May. WEAU
- ➤ Starting Monday, construction on Madison, Barstow and Farwell Streets in north downtown Eau Claire will limit access to local businesses, with road closures lasting until May 9 and one intersection closing until April 15. Dave Savage of Superior Auto Body said he first learned of the closure Friday and expects his business to lose up to $100,000 in revenue if delays extend — contractors have set up a temporary gravel entrance for customers. - ➤ Eau Claire police arrested 41-year-old Nathan Stevens after a high-speed chase on the city’s west side—he now faces charges that include recklessly endangering safety, possession of meth, and hit and run with injury as the chase damaged several squad cars and resulted in injuries to three officers. - ➤ Eau Claire police arrested 22 people on April 4th after searching a Barland Street home linked to illegal drug activity—19 went to jail while the rest are set for future court appearances. WEAU

- ➤ On Friday, 450 students from Eau Claire County and Bloomer High Schools took part in Royal Credit Union’s Test Drive. Next Stop Reality, where more than 20 stations simulated real-life challenges like managing a one-month budget—showing students a glimpse of life after graduation. WEAU
- ➤ UW-Eau Claire is hosting its annual Viennese Ball at the student center—marking 50 years of the event—with festivities running Friday and Saturday. The celebration features classical music, art, and traditional food while supporting student scholarships that have raised over $1.6 million. WQOW
