- ➤ Eau Claire thru-hiker Todd Wellnitz completed a five-month, 3,000-mile hike along the Continental Divide Trail from Canada to Mexico—he said the challenge tested both his body and mind. He plans to complete the Triple Crown by hiking the Appalachian Trail by the end of 2026. WEAU

- ➤ Police chased an SUV early Thursday just after 7 a.m. near A and J Mobility off County Road T and Prospect Drive—two police vehicles were damaged and authorities reported no injuries. WEAU
- ➤ A 17-year-old marathon runner from Eau Claire, Addison Bowell, appeared in court on charges of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle and hit and run after authorities found 54-year-old Ann Seidl dead in a ditch on County highway Y in Dunn last weekend—she admitted to drinking and her breath test showed a BAC of .114, and she is scheduled to return on April 17.
