- ➤ UW-Eau Claire student Becca Roth faced difficulty crossing Water Street as a wheelchair user and pushed for safer crossing measures. Deputy City Engineer Al Rinka led a traffic study that will add a push-to-walk button & flashing pedestrian signs at the corner in roughly a month. WQOW
- ➤ Patriot Palooza 2026 will be held Saturday, Apr. 25 at Moose Lodge in Rice Lake from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., raising awareness and funds for One Battle, Inc. The family-friendly event features raffles, silent auctions, a bake sale, live music and free meals for veterans. WEAU
- ➤ Phillip Swiler, the new executive director of Chippewa Valley Habitat for Humanity, plans to expand affordable housing with a twin home in Menomonie and one build in Eau Claire as rising prices challenge families — the nonprofit relies on ReStore funds and will open applications when lots are purchased.
