- ➤ On Thursday morning, the Red Cross of Wisconsin Northwest held its 22nd annual Heroes Breakfast — seven awards were given to local heroes, including Doris Durst, a former veterinarian now volunteering with the Red Cross. The nonprofit also urged community members to get involved by donating, volunteering, or donating blood this March. WQOW
- ➤ The fourth annual Tossing High for CRI cornhole tournament will take place on Saturday, March 28 at Loopy’s Grill and Saloon (Chippewa Falls). Competitors from across the state will join recreational divisions in a friendly fundraiser for CRI. WEAU

- ➤ Freddie the Fire Truck is back in action after CVTC Mechatronics students repaired his speakers and water sprayer, making him ready to visit elementary classrooms — Eau Claire Fire Rescue plans to feature him in upcoming fire prevention events. WQOW
