  • Chippewa Valley Veterans Tribute will receive a $160K donation from an Altoona VFW to fund a new memorial honoring local Vietnam War veterans + the project is expected to be installed later this year.  Leader-Telegram
  • VFW Post 10405 is donating $160,000 from its building sale to fund a Vietnam War memorial on the Veterans Tribute Trail in River Prairie Park that will feature a granite wall and a life-sized soldier; a matching campaign to raise $200,000 will launch at the end of this month.  WQOW

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Sydney Marx, an Eau Claire native, will serve as branch manager for the College Works Painting internship program, taking on a role that guides local interns in learning essential painting skills. Her appointment brings fresh local leadership to the program.  Leader-Telegram

  • Attorney General Josh Kaul joined a coalition on Tuesday to oppose a proposed federal student loan rule that would cap funding for graduate health programs, warning the measure may worsen local healthcare shortages + his office argued the cap does not reflect congressional intent.  WQOW
  • Eau Claire City now offers a service request form for residents to report potholes directly to the streets division as spring drives more road wear. The system aims to speed repairs and keep roads smooth.  WEAU
