  • The Eleva-Strum Rail Riders will host their fourth annual St. Patrick’s Day fundraiser on March 14 at the Eleva American Legion (featuring corned beef, cabbage, raffles and a silent auction) to support trail maintenance and local community projects.  WEAU
  • The 62nd annual Eau Claire Farm Show is happening today and tomorrow (5150 Old Mill Plaza at Chippewa Valley Expo Center) from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. over 150 agricultural exhibitors will display the latest equipment, technology, and services with free admission and parking available.  WEAU
  • Lutheran Social Services (LSS) has received a grant and will soon lead its regional Grief Services Project to support community members dealing with loss.  Leader-Telegram

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Restoration Station in Elk Mound repairs vintage jukeboxes and arcade machines and has been keeping the classic charm alive for 14 years. The shop is open Tuesday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and offers restored machines + antiques for sale.  WQOW

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Adam Kirby of the Eau Claire Area School District Service Center received the Golden Apple award after three years of dedicated work (including popular potluck contributions), with the district and Public Schools Foundation sponsoring $500 for his recognition.  WEAU
  • Anonymous donors committed a legacy gift expected to exceed $10 million to Chippewa Valley Technical College’s foundation in Eau Claire — a move that will support future educational access; the announcement was made on Feb. 26 at the CVTC Foundation Gala.  WQOW

  • Long-empty commercial units at Haymarket Plaza are expected to sell this month to an unnamed buyer — the 15,000 sqft property was purchased by Foxconn in 2018 and never used.  WEAU
