- ➤ Jig’s Up Ice Fishing Contest returns for its 13th year at Lake Wissota, drawing hundreds of anglers to help fund UW-Eau Claire athletic programs. The event, with many students joining the fun, is expected to bring a strong turnout thanks to warm weather — a welcome twist for ice fishing. WEAU
- ➤ Eau Claire Marathon hosted the XOX-EAU 5K Race in River Prairie on Saturday — nearly 750 runners enjoyed mini donuts served at every mile while race director Adam Ludwig hoped the event would spark a long-lasting love for running. WEAU
- ➤ Today at Silvermine Ski Jump, the first X Racing Sunday Funday featured snowmobile and snow bike races that raised funds to reopen the Olympic-sized ski jump, and racers said warmer temperatures posed challenges. The event united the community in support of restoration efforts. WEAU
