- ➤ Today, the city is offering free bus rides to celebrate Transit Equity Day, honoring Rosa Parks. Chippewa Valley Transit Alliance + JONAH are covering the cost for city buses and paratransit services, while transit workers mark a seat on each bus in her honor. WEAU

- ➤ Two film festivals, MidWest WeirdFest and A Night of Horror, will take place from March 5-8 at the Micon Downtown Cinema, with passes allowing access to both shows (subject to sellouts); detailed schedules will be announced soon. WEAU
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ UW-Eau Claire opened a Martin Luther King Jr. exhibit on the third floor of the Davies Center to honor Black History Month and the display will run for the remainder of February. WEAU
- ➤ Christina Geissler, Locust Lane Elementary's partnership coordinator, was honored with the Golden Apple Award during a ceremony sponsored by Frandsen Bank & Trust & the Eau Claire Public Schools Foundation. She received a $500 grant in recognition of her dedication to supporting students, families, and staff. WEAU
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ City officials are updating the Comprehensive Plan to expand industrial park spaces for growing manufacturing, biotechnology, and plastics businesses. Community Development Director Aaron White said the 18-month effort aims to create more room for expansion — a critical move to keep local businesses in town. WQOW
