COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ Fundraising continues for One Better Way Capital Campaign as Western Dairyland has raised $4 million toward the $6.1 million goal to fund a permanent day resource center for those facing homelessness in Eau Claire. The new center opened earlier this week and additional programs will extend later this year. WEAU
- ➤ Snowmobile trails in the Chippewa Valley are open today, with Chippewa and Clark trails opening Friday and Dunn County trails since Thursday. Officials say riders must wear helmets, drive sober, check ice, and those born in 1985 or later must complete a safety course — required for a trail pass. WQOW
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Township Fire Department reported a record year in 2025 with 432 fires and 1,225 EMS calls. Officials said some calls, including those from iPhone crash detections (often from phones left on car roofs), were not true emergencies. WEAU
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Today at Regis High School, locals will rally for Full Court for a Cure—a 31-day fundraiser supporting PKAN research, featuring a double-header basketball game and booth sales of shirts and Gracelets. Donations will aid gene therapy development for toxicology studies before clinical trials. WEAU
