- ➤ Marshfield Medical Center in Eau Claire welcomed its first baby of 2026 on Thursday at 2:09 a.m. The newborn weighed 7 pounds 5 ounces and in 2025, the center recorded 1,374 births (including 10 sets of twins). WEAU
LIFESTYLE NEWS
- ➤ Today at Pinehurst Park, kids took advantage of fresh snowfall to sled, snowboard and skate while sharing their New Year’s resolutions to get better at sports like biking. Snowboarders Jacksen and Joseph said they aim to improve on the slopes, though they did not look forward to next week’s challenges. WQOW
- ➤ Outdoor ice skating has returned in Eau Claire with rinks at Boyd, Pinehurst, Putnam and Roosevelt open from 12 to 7 p.m. today. Starting next week, hours will change to 4 to 7 p.m. on weekdays and stay 12 to 7 p.m. on weekends. WQOW
- ➤ Snowmobile trails in Eau Claire County will open at 7 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 3, according to the Associated Snowmobile Clubs of Eau Claire. WQOW
